There was a word used to describe idiots that thought they could disrespect Gaara and leave unscathed. Delusional. Yes, this weakling was delusional. But was it worth wasting the chakra to teach this ill mannered civilian a lesson? Reason pointed to a resounding 'no.' Gaara had a much larger target to go after; he didn't need to waste the time punishing low level scum like this.

However, that wasn't the whole story. In order to find this magician, he would need more information, and in light of that endeavor, Gaara would employ any means necessary. It certainly wasn't his problem if this fool decided to resign himself to a fate of being collateral damage. His tone, though not much different from its usual calm, takes on a very subtly dangerous quality.

"You will tell me everything you know."

This would be the only form of mercy Gaara would offer.
