Unfortunately, what the surgeon brought out of his coat wasn't something that sets most peoples minds at rest. Although the needle wasn't large, the contents certainly packed a punch. Lifting the back of Gokudera's shirt, Black Jack put a hand gently on his arm.

"This will hurt for about a minute"

Finding the correct vertebrae, Black Jack went ahead and administered the anesthetic as quickly as he could. He knew it would take a minute, if not less, for the strong drug to kick in. Until then, he had to make sure Dera stayed awake.
