Had she not known the danger Gokudera was in, she would have fought harder. she'd wait though, when he was healed and of a sound mind, she'd ask him what he wanted. If he wanted to die rather than live with missing a leg...she'd do it herself. Pulling her hand back, she wrapped the coat around his form, holding him closer than she'd really held anyone before.
Returning the heated tone, she sneered at the doctor, making sure she didn't raise her voice too much. "I was trying to stop anything worse from happening, unless you'd rather that I'd let you die." She could have taken the leg off if she wanted, but it would hardly be as painless as what it was now.
Her ire paused though at Gokudera's proclamation. Even in his condition, he was willing to keep her brothers actions their dirty little secret. Nodding, she leaned her head against his, an act only Kankuro had ever received. "...Thank you." She'd repay him for this somehow. "You can't sleep yet. I need you to stay awake...look at me, tell me about yourself."
