[The tree in the parlor is massive. Its prickly branches stretch outwards and are weighed down with bright ornaments; the star at the top nearly touches the ceiling. In the fireplace nearby, a fire crackles warm and orange. Outside the window, there is snow. It's a perfect Christmas scene. And on the rug, under the tree? Those are your presents.]

[It's snowing lightly. Those who are transported to the room today will hear a faint echo of "White Christmas" playing from an old radio near the tree.]

[The smell of gingerbread wafts from the kitchen today. Around the tree, an old rendition of Jingle Bells can be heard playing softly from an old radio.]

[The room is invitingly warm from the crackling fire. It feels as if one will never be cold again.]

[There is a bowl of candy canes on the table, striped red and white and green. The window above the table is covered in frost, and there are icicles hanging down from the eaves.]

[It's Christmas day! Everything in the room is warm and muted and peaceful, until the present opening begins. The sound of sleigh bells can be heard on the wind outside if one is quiet enough to hear it, though.]

[There are small pine needles littering the ground under the tree, blanketing the presents. The world outside is pure and sparkling white.]

[Toothless, a.k.a so many other names that would make another's head spin, woke up in front of the fireplace with a start. Her head picked up and a soft, confused, but short rumble came through from her voice. She's inside? Since when? Then the tree......

Her eyes widened. Her nose twitched. Her square pupils dilated. She was in shiny heaven. Standing up slow, she moved around the tree....sniffing and nudging the ornaments with her nose. Since she couldn't read, she didn't realize that the presents under the tree were hers...]

[Is still in his sleep clothes when he steps out of the bathroom after brushing his teeth. Only, something wasn't right. It seems instead of stepping out into the hallway, he's in the parlor?]

What the...?

[He turns around to go back, but the bathroom door is gone. 'Ugh, what now?' The boy thinks woefully, but slowly relaxes as he takes in the warm surroundings. Once he's sure nothing is going to leap out at him he finally notices the tree and boxes. One of which wrapped in a style that reminded him of Yuiko. Actually, it was exactly like Yuiko's wrapping. He kneels down beside the gifts and reads the tags. Yuiko, Soubi, Kio, Natsuo, Oz...]

...Sebastian?

[He opens that one out of curiosity, then blushes faintly in embarrassment. He's sure it's the right Sebastian when he reads the book titles. Vampire novels... The next one to catch his attention is a small one with a tag that reads...]

[Okay, this one he opens very slowly while holding it away from his face. When the lid opens he hears the sound of a small bell ring. He then tips the gift box over and out falls a velvet red choker with a little gold bell.]

Uh,... thank you, Author-san...?

[In the middle of open one of his gifts he hears a snort by the fireplace. Looking up he freezes when he spots the giant reptile. Dragons on Christmas? ... He had to hand it to the author, that was pretty original!]

W-wow!

[He backs up a little when she starts sniffing her way towards him.]

U-uh, hello there... Are those yours?

[He points to the boxes a bit by his, one with the name 'Toothless' on the tag, also from the author.]

'Toothless', that's a comforting name...

Ritsuka? What are you doing?

[He tucks the necklace into the box when he hears Oz's voice. Just what he needed, to give that guy something else to make cat jokes with!]

I'm opening gifts I guess, the author just kinda put me here this morning and I found these gifts with my name on them...

So you're opening them? Get anything interesting yet?

These books from Mr. Michaelis, the butler.

[He leans over to pick up the books only to hear that small ringing again. The teen tenses and moves once more... Ring. He then feels something metallic brush against his collar.]

Nn!

[He jumps and realizes the choker has somehow appeared around his neck.]

[This is nice. Tris has no idea how she got here, but that's probably for the best. She's just waking up, really- how she dozed off with her glasses on is anyone's guess.]

...Well, at least I'm comfortable. [She's looking around the room some and frowning thoughtfully.]

[Sitting back on her haunches with a wide-eyed innocent expression, she gave a nod when her name was called. At first, it seemed strange that someone else would refer to her by the name that was just one of her many abilities but it's okay now. Another kitty boy and she was happy. She tilts her head and gives a sniff and a rumbling purr.]

[He watches the creature curiously and cautiously, but aside from being bigger than horse and looking like a dinosaur, it wasn't sending off any threatening signals. The cat boy stands up and takes a small step closer when she... or he nods.]

Ah, good, you understand me.

['That means it might be trained...' He places the gift on the ground, by the dragon's feet, then steps back.]

Here you go, Toothless. This one is for you.

[Wide mint-colored eyes looked from the package to her new friend and back at the package again. She was trying to figure out how to open it or what to do with it. She purred and hooked a talon under the ribbon and picked it up only to have the ribbon break and the package falls.

He eyes blinked and looked up at Ritsuka with an expression much like a child would when they broke something. Her chin was lowered and she almost looked like she was pouting for breaking the ribbon.]

[He watches quietly as the dragon seems to be figuring something out, then smiles when the ribbon snaps... until he notices the upset look on the reptile's face.]

No, that's good, Toothless, you're supposed to open it.

[His tone is gentle and he kneels down to show that it's okay. He tosses the broken ribbon aside, then starts to peel away the paper before finally opening the lid to the gift box.]

See?

[A trilling purr and a lift to her head, she began to sniff the box and the contents inside. Her "hand" was a little too big to reach in so she tips the box over instead and fishes the contents out with her talons. Out rolls a snow globe with the New York City Christmas tree and a delighted purr rumbles out.]

Lizzie isn't sure why she is at the tree before Christmas. Isn't she supposed to open her gifts then? She decides that it will be okay to look them over at lest. Going over the tree, she reads who they are all from. Ciel~ Sebastian... the Author? Hmm. A secret Santa too? ... She shakes the gift a little, trying to figure out what it might be.

[He catches the snow globe as it rolls out, then holds it up for her to see. He wasn't sure what a dragon would do with a snow globe, but from the sounds Toothless was making, it seems like the gift is appreciated.]

A dragon that likes snow globes? I wonder if it plays music...

[He turns it over to look for a key.]

[She looks over Ritsuka's shoulder and sniffs, her nose wiggling up and down like a rabbit's only much bigger and blinks with her wide eyes. The song it plays is "It Came Upon a Midnight Clear".]

[The cat ears perk up when the large head is suddenly so close to his own. The warm dragon breath makes one of the ears twitch softly.]

Recognize this tune?

[He sets in back down in front of those large clawed toes so the dragon enjoy it's gift.]

[It took a few turns of the song to play before the tune became committed to the memory of the dragon and she started to purr melodically with it with her eyes closed.]

[As the dragon muses over it's gift, Ritsuka watches with a content look. It's then that he decides he'd like to make a memory of this! He picks up on of the new digital camera he'd gotten as a gift.]

Stay right there Toothless, just for a minute.

[He sounds a little excited because he never thought he'd be able to take a picture of a dragon! Making sure to turn the flash off first, he holds the camera up to his face.]
