Location: The TARDIS- out in the grounds
Summary: The Doctor has offered his TARDIS up for a safe house.
Ratings: PG13. The Doctor will not tolerate any funny business on his ship.

[Stepping through those doors means it's become quite clear there's a whole world inside this police box.]

[AKJnfkjnwe I don't care how behind on tags I am. L is in here and he's STARING AT SHIT.]

It's a bit hard to take in at first.

[The Doctor is leaning against the control panel with his arms crossed.]

What does everything do?

[Yes. He wants a complete rundown.]

[That could take a bit of explaining.]

Well, actually-it would take a grand total of six years, seven months, and three days to explain everything.

--but basically, you punch in coordinates here. [His coordinates are a random key smash as he 'types' them in.] Check the stability here-oops since we don't want to land in the ocean- we tweak that a bit. --Push this button to get the TARDIS ready, and flip this switch up--[he's moving all around the control panel pressing buttons and flipping switches] -Pull this to keep from plunging straight into the Vortex- pull this lever aaand we're off!

[The TARDIS suddenly lurches making a strange noise (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y6kvjP3mpG8) as it starts to take off. Anyone not holding on to something will probably find themselves acquainted with the floor]

But the problem is it's not working right. [he looks up at the screen showing the coordinates had reset themselves back to how they were before.]

[... Yep, L's on the floor. He didn't even cry out. He picks himself up without a word. His brain's running overtime trying to figure out what can be gleaned from this.]

What is stopping it from moving? Does the computer system keep track of error logs?

[He pushes the lever back into place and moves back over to the area the coordinates go in.]

Well-that's just it. I don't know what could be stopping the TARDIS or what would even have that power without having to shut her down entirely-another thing that's bothering me is that the TARDIS feeds off the universe-my universe and dragging her into another would kill her-yet she's perfectly fine aside form refusing to respond to coordinates.

[He shuffles over and opens a compartment, starts poking at the mess of wires, looking to what they connect to and whatnot. He chews his thumbnail as he runs it all through his head.

He wishes Watari were here. He's better at this sort of thing.

Of course, there's always Matt.]

... I need to make a call.

By all means, go right ahead. [he'll go back to trying to fix his TARDIS]

[L immediately pulls out his Blackberry and calls Matt.]

[The Doctor continues as he was]

[A Wammy's kid will always pay attention to a call from L...for one reason or another. Matt was no exception.

Even though it meant going outside.

He arrives, unimpressed with the exterior.

And then he steps into the control room.

He takes a slow look around him while pulling out his own Blackberry to make a call. First things first.]

Yeah, Mello? Might not be coming home tonight.

[Sup, bro? L shuffles over.]

Thank you for coming. We have a lot of work cut out for us.

[Like his scarf?]

[There is a spark over in the direction the Doctor's in and he quickly starts sucking on his index finger]

She hates when I touch there. Never figured out why.

[And he's moving over to open a compartment of wires.]

[That scarf...Matt can only stare at it for the moment, that cupcake pattern repeating over and over again.

L could've been wearing a noose and he would've stared less.]

Uhh...yeah.

[He turned his attention, or at least tried to, to the other man.]

When's the last time you did maintenance on this thing?

[You're just jealous you don't have one.

He's just going to go back to studying the mess of wires he was looking at before Matt showed up.]
