Just sit right back and you'll hear a tale...

Character Names: Matt ([Bad username or site: @ livejournal.com]), Mello ([Bad username or site: @ livejournal.com]), L ([Bad username or site: @ livejournal.com])
When: Wednesday of beach week
Location: Aboard this
Summary: Wammy Boys go on an exciting tour of the island and the surrounding waters!
Rating: PG-13 because that's the lowest rating M&M can get.
Warnings: Cussing, Wammy Boy-ness, probably horrible sunburns

Mello finished untying the boat from the dock. He ran his hand over the scar on his face before giving Matt a thumb's up and watched the dock shrink. The blond took a sip of his iced coffee and looked over at L, eyes then shifting to Matt, "here we go."

Matt liked driving. Mello let him drive his car, but never his motorcycle. But now, with this boat, the odds were in his favor again.

"Everyone hold on to their panties." He blinked and glanced sheepishly at L. He still hadn't learned to curb his tongue around their mentor. "Throw on a life jacket if you can't swim."

Ironic, given that he himself couldn't swim. Hey, that was exercise, ya know.

"I am quite capable at freestyle. And the backstroke," L assured Matt. He was crouched in the front of the boat. He was wearing sunglasses (http://www.sunglasshut.com/sgh/pdp.jsp?upcs=700285229737) that he hoped were cool. And a floppy hat (http://www.zappos.com/dakine-sunny-natural-straw) to protect himself from harsh sun rays.

Matt has had to wear many things on the beach that have chipped away at his dignity (what he has of it). Shorts. Flip-flops. Sunscreen. He'll be damned if he wears a neon life preserver. He'd rather drown.

He waited for L's response, anxious to pick up some speed. Whatever was waiting for them, it was his job to take them to it.

"It is the simplest and most logical course of action," L agreed.

He raised the binoculars he can brought with him and pressed them to his eyes. Or... sunglass lenses. Which was actually a bit awkward. He lowered the binoculars, raised the sunglasses to his forehead, and returned the binoculars to his eyes. All he could see was undisturbed water, right to the horizon.

"Maybe we'll fall off the edge of the Earth." It probably wasn't the best joke to be making right about now, but Matt couldn't resist. He grinned to himself, picking up speed and keeping his eye on the road. Or in this case, water.

"Prove that Columbus was right all along."

"That possibility cannot be dismissed," L said gravely, although he understood it was a joke. "The rules of this world could be completely different than ours."

He lowered the binoculars and replaced his sunglasses. It had been a trying week and he didn't exactly mind the trip. At least his head felt clearer.

And his sunglasses were cool.

Cool....right.

As for Matt, he'd noticed some fruit on the island that didn't all grow on the same continent even. But if he noticed, Mello noticed it. So he keeps driving, keeping his eyes on the water -- just in case here be monsters.

L remained silent as well, scanning the horizon for any possible change, no matter how slight.
