Rum and Wine
Character Names: Jack Sparrow and Lucy Saxton
When: Backdated to Tuesday evening
Location: The dining room
Summary: Jack promised Lucy that he would make her dinner and he wants to get to know her a little better.
Rating: PG-13 for starters.
Warnings: Innuendo and double entendre.
Jack was busy preparing the meal that he promised to make Lucy which consisted of slow cooked pot roast, carrots, mashed potatoes and brown gravy along with dinner rolls. He had to look at a recipe book of course but he didn't leave anything to chance.
Backing the pie was a little trickier and decided to go with a key lime that he could simply defrost. He was good, but not that good. Maybe if the captain had a little more time, he could get it done but he wasn't going to experiment with something that he didn't quite understand just yet. After all, he was looking to impress Lucy, not poison her with something awful.
Jack had set out the fine tableware and picked out the best wine that he knew of from the cellar below. Placing the bottle in the center between the two place sets, it was time to make the plates before lighting the candles. Artificial light seemed too overbearing to his eyes. This not only created a warm atmosphere, it certainly marked a romantic one.

And he'd kept the promise.
And she'd seen such awesome terrors they had plagued her dreams ever since...
But she pushed those thoughts to the back of her mind and tried to convince herself this was different. However, she could almost see him now, her husband, smiling at her in that condescending way with that wicked glint in his eyes.
She took another few gulps of wine to distract herself.
"Another trip? You mean we aren't always in this house?"

From his first trip to Paris, it certainly proved that he was out of his time but not out of the loop. "I had bad cheese the last I ventured out." He smirked playfully.

"Bad cheese? The way this Author seems to work that could have been a lot worse!"
Lucy wasn't sure yet exactly how dangerous the Manor might be, but she didn't trust anyone who could make people's clothes vanish, that was for sure.
Lucy leant across the table a little, deciding to flirt with Jack a little for the fun of it.
"If we were sent to some ancient kingdome and I was the damsel in distress about to be eaten by a dragon, would you save me?"
no subject
"I would sail to the ends of the earth and back again to bring you back from despair. You can count on that." This response was a bit more serious than his initial one and he meant every word.

"Oh Captain, you're every bit the dashing hero I used to daydream about as girl." she giggled. "I certainly can't wait to try your cooking, either."
no subject
"Certainly, you are not referring to me as being a hero among heroes." Jack responded jokingly and takes his first bit of the pot roast he made. It tasted much better than he had originally thought it to be. Perhaps it was the company that made it worth the effort.

"Oh that's wonderful." she said, "Charming, handsome, and a good cook!"
Honestly, she couldn't tell if Jack's cooking was anything exceptional, or if she was just overwhelmed with grattitude to be eating something that wasn't salad. She'd been practically starved this past year to keep her looking attractive.

"You must have me confused with someone else," Jack said jokingly. "Of course, I do like my meals a certain way though handsome is a rare exception to the rule."
Jack liked his meals hearty considering the time he spends out at sea some things were just so hard to come by. Beef and pork along with fresh vegetables and fruits were rare on long voyages. Mostly it was rum, peanuts and anything else that would last longer than a week if they were pickled.
"I followed the recipe and added a little of my own."

She poured herself another glass of wine and had a few more mouthfuls of food before asking, "So, do you have a wife? Or a partner of some sort?"
Lucy wasn't sure if they used the term 'girlfriend' in Jack's time.
no subject
"I never stayed in port long enough for a wife to be considered." Although he did express an interest in Elizabeth Swann but she had her interests in William Turner which is another story for later.
