Character Names: Gaara
sandcarnage, Gokudera Hayato
killer_melon, Ryohei Sasagawa
lionpunchinist, Temari
suna_bitch & Black Jack
scarsnscalpels
When: June 17th
Location: The Forest
Summary: Revenge seeking goes badly when Gokudera faces off against Gaara
Ratings: PG-13, R?
Warnings: Violence. Lots of violence.
Status: CLOSED
After hearing about the "magician" the idiot girl had mentioned a few days ago, Gaara's goals had undergone a subtle, but dramatic shift. No longer was he seeking the same, aimless sort of violent games, now he wanted retribution. He would find the magician responsible for the indignity he had been put through the previous week. He would make it regret ever being born.
The disappearance of the Manor, of course, made it much more difficult to track any particular person down, which meant for now Gaara would have to be patient. Sending his chakra to his feet, he hung upside down from a tree. With his eyes closed to block out the surrounding wildlife, he concentrated on finding any traces of chakra in this world. A magician skilled enough to use a transforming jutsu strong enough to last an entire week must not be a magician at all, but a skilled genjutsu user. There would be hell to pay when Gaara located it.

Blocking all else from mind, Temari, the first idiot, his focus went straight to the loudmouth. The sand on the floor began to rise once more, and began to advance towards Ryohei. He didn't care at this point if Temari was stupid enough to get caught in the cross fire.

He let his hand drop and just watched, his mind barely able to keep up with it, but the sick feeling of dread remained. He had to get Ryohei out of there. He was going to die. Didn't the idiot get it? If he couldn't beat him, then Ryohei had no chance. If anyone is going to die it should be him! He started this fight! It's his job to look out for the Vongola!
But at this rate, Gokudera wasn't going to last much longer either. He was beginning to feel so cold...

Glancing between Gokudera and Ryohei, she knew after Ryohei moved that there was no saving him. She didn't care who it was, she wasn't getting that close to Gaara when he was in such a rage. As much as she was ashamed to say it, she was scared of him.
After a moment, she moved over to Gokudera, like hell she was going to let both of them die. Making her way to the silver haired boy, she stared down at his leg, unsure of what to do and if it was even safe to move him. "Gokudera, look at me...can you feel anything?" Pressing gently on his upper leg, she tried to ignore the sounds behind her, everything in her telling her to flee.

Flash.
Why the hell would such a weakling go this far to protect his friend? Why would he push Temari out of the way? What the hell did it matter to the damn brat if either of them died?!
Flash.
If their existences were weak enough to be wiped out this easily, then they deserved to disappear.
And then the collision between human flesh and sand.
There was no way that an ordinary taijutsu user without any chakra could possibly break through the Shield of Sand. It was inevitable. Predictable. As Ryohei let loose the punch, the sand moved upwards to block the blow automatically. Gaara barely had the time to blink when, impossibly- impossibly-the sand actually gave way.
The sand had absorbed all of Ryohei's momentum, and so, for a moment, Gaara merely stared in absolute disbelief as a fist was suspended before his face.

And yet.
He had almost taken damage. He- Gaara, the very incarnate of Sand- had almost been hurt. Unthinkable. There was no way he would allow his own existence to be threatened- not by these weaklings, not by anybody.
Letting loose an outraged roar, Gaara quickly solidified the sand around Ryohei's fist, but that wasn't all. For coming so close to touching Gaara, there would be only one destiny for Ryohei: Utter annihilation.
"Sabaku Kyu!"
Immediately, all of the sand in Gaara's gourd slithered onto Ryohei's body covering the boy from head to toe, encasing him in a thick prison of sand.
But that wasn't all. No, Gaara was far from finished. He raised his arm slowly, willing the sand upwards into the sky, suspending Ryohei several feet above the ground....

it's currently 2:45am please excuse any major fail x_x
He keeps the video open as he tries to work out where Gokudera is, though it doesn't take long for him to find him. He see's the conflict between the other males, but makesit a point to avoid them for the time being.
Running over to where Dera was laying, he kneels down next to him as he looks up at the unfamiliar blonde girl.
"What happened here?" His tone was serious as he mentally assessed the teenagers condition. He had already lost a lot of blood...and Black Jack had only very basic surgical equipment.
Well, he'd dealt with worse.
Re: it's currently 2:45am please excuse any major fail x_x
"Your not touchin' it hard enough... just... just give it a minute... I gotta... I gotta fix it.... I don't wanna lose my... leg... I gotta fix it"
Gokudera begins to reach down and once more dig his fingers into his leg, but soon goes into a panic when he notices the new arrival on the scene. Immediately he begins weakly flailing and squirming and grabs hold of Temari.
"No.... no no no... d-don't let him... don't let him take my leg. Y-you can't let him take my leg... it's not fixed yet.."
He pauses in his struggle for a moment when the fight once again catches his attention. His eyes widen and he just watches in horror at what's about to unfold, his own eyes begin to water.
"S-SASAGAWA! no... don't let him kill him... let him kill me instead... please.... don't kill him..."
no subject
A panic that still happened with the new arrival. Judging from Gokudera's reaction, she could only assume he was a medic. "I'm not going to let him take your leg. Calm down." If Ryohei's arm could be fixed, there was no reason why his leg couldn't be saved as well.
Glancing up to answer the medic, she shook her head. "He hurt his leg...Fix it." He was a medic, he could fix this without much of a problem. If he couldn't...he wasn't a very good medic. Brought out of her musings by Gokudera freaking out, she knew what was about to happen without looking.
Moving to block his vision, Temari let a note of compassion slip into her voice. Despite how cold she acted, she wasn't without a heart. "...I'm sorry...but there's nothing to be done." Gaara was unstoppable when he was like this. The best they could hope for was that he would be satisfied with the one kill.

"Sabaku Sousou!"
Forming a tight fist, the sand mimicked the action, imploding upon itself, instantly liquefying everything contained within it.

A substitution jutsu at the very last moment would be inconceivable; He had made sure that the chakra-less fool couldn't form any seals as an extra precaution.
He muttered under his breath. "Impossible."
He opened his fist, gradually relinquishing the pressure on the sand, to reveal... nothing, as expected. Unlike most other killing jutsus this one didn't leave behind a corpse. Total elimination of his opponents' existence was what Gaara strove for.
So was he to be satisfied with this pathetic amount of blood that he drew and walk away? As Gaara thought, the fool hadn't been worth his time or the chakra he had wasted already.
Slowly, but surely, the sand began to return to the gourd on Gaara's back, resealing it as it did so. His task was done here.
"Worthless fool was a waste of my time."
He formed the seal of the Ram, and in a rush of sand, disappeared.

Wasting no more time, Black Jack removed his tie and tiedit tightly a few inches above where Gokudera's leg became nothing more than a bloody mess. As he turned to get something out of his coat, he glanced up at Temari, for now ignoring her command to 'fix it'
"Roll him on his side for me, gently"
The fact that the two that had been fighting was a plus; at least it meant he could work in peace.

"I'm sorry.... I'm so sorry Sasagawa..."

Wincing as she heard the command for Ryohei to be crushed, she waited for the inevitable glee that Gaara would feel...taken completely by surprised at his words. Waste of time? So he escaped somehow. The words coupled with how clean the area was of blood both pointed in that direction. Once Gaara vanished, she petted the boys hair gently.
"He didn't die. He got away, don't worry~." Perhaps he'd draw some comfort from the words, even as she started rolling him to his side. Not paying attention to what Black Jack was getting, she kept her focus on trying to keep the silver haired boy calm.

"This will hurt for about a minute"
Finding the correct vertebrae, Black Jack went ahead and administered the anesthetic as quickly as he could. He knew it would take a minute, if not less, for the strong drug to kick in. Until then, he had to make sure Dera stayed awake.
"Alright, you can put him on his back again.." He said to Temari as he brought out his setof scalpels. Without looking at her, he addressed her again.
"What's your name?"
no subject
"Th-thank god.... I didn't fail... I'm not useless... thank god..."
Hayato's little sobs were interrupted by as slight yelp as Black Jack inserted the needle. Not from the pain it caused, because by dammit he's had worse, but the odd feeling of something being jabbed into his back. Then there's a warm tingling sensation, in his lower half and it all goes numb. The teen lets out a slight whimper as he's rolled back over, still looking up at Temari.
"W-what's he doin'?"
no subject
Staring at the scalpels, she ignores Black Jacks question for the moment, keeping her promise much more important than useless formalities. Keeping Gokudera's head positioned to where he couldn't see the sharp instruments, Temari glares at the man across from her, keeping her voice soft so she wouldn't alarm Gokudera.
"Those had better to just cut his pants..."
no subject
"You don't have to watch this. Just keep him awake and keep talking to him"
With fair warning given, he cuts the material to the teenager's pants, his eyes narrowing when the full amount of damage was revealed. The make shift tourniquet was serving it's purpose, but he knew he had to work quickly before the lack of blood flow began to affect the rest of his leg. The fact that there was no longer any manageable solid bone made things a lot easier as he began severing the crushed limb from it's owner.
no subject
He was vaguely aware of talking, but it sounded far away, and he wasn't paying much attention to it. Then his thoughts suddenly returned to his temperature... maybe he should tell Temari... she would know what to do... she was warm...
"M'cold..."
no subject
Reaching out she grabbed his wrist to stop him from cutting any further into Gokudera's leg. "What do you think you're doing?! Just heal it, you don't need to do that!"
Glancing down when she heard the soft words, she wasn't sure what to really say or do. She wasn't raised with compassion or gentleness....she was hardly raised at all. Shaking her head, she resumed her petting. "...I'm sorry but I don't have a blanket for you."
no subject
"I don't have time to argue, he doesn't have time! I've started this, and I'm finishing it, unless you'd rather take over? Or maybe waste even more time calling for a healer?"
He picks up his over coat and covers Dera with it, being mindful to keep his leg uncovered. "If you wanted that for him, it was your resonsibility to call one earlier"
And with that, he continued, and after several minutes, the limb finally came away. With the main artery in the leg damaged, he quickly reached over and found some surgical thread in one of his coat pockets, along with a needle.
no subject
"hey...T'mari... m'sorry... I promise... ain't gunna tell... 'kay? I owe ya... not gunna tell... what happened... Omertá. Not a word..." He tried to glance back at the Doctor,"You too. Omertá."
Hayato closed his eyes, getting ready to go to sleep.
"tired now... can I go t'sleep?"
no subject
Returning the heated tone, she sneered at the doctor, making sure she didn't raise her voice too much. "I was trying to stop anything worse from happening, unless you'd rather that I'd let you die." She could have taken the leg off if she wanted, but it would hardly be as painless as what it was now.
Her ire paused though at Gokudera's proclamation. Even in his condition, he was willing to keep her brothers actions their dirty little secret. Nodding, she leaned her head against his, an act only Kankuro had ever received. "...Thank you." She'd repay him for this somehow. "You can't sleep yet. I need you to stay awake...look at me, tell me about yourself."
no subject
He didn't even look at her as he worked on the intricate stitching on the flesh and artery. Even though the worst was over, he couldn't guarantee that Gokudera would live through the next few days. Conditions couldn't have been worse for the teenager in this state, though once Black Jack was finished he was sure if he deteriorated, this snappy, nameless girl could get someoneelse to take over.
He hoped the boy could hang on for...he guessed about another half hour...yes, a half hour or so, maybe a little longer. As soon as he was able, he would get him blood. But until then, it was all down to the kids will to live.
