[The tree in the parlor is massive. Its prickly branches stretch outwards and are weighed down with bright ornaments; the star at the top nearly touches the ceiling. In the fireplace nearby, a fire crackles warm and orange. Outside the window, there is snow. It's a perfect Christmas scene. And on the rug, under the tree? Those are your presents.]

He drops down and sits cross-legged in front of the brightly wrapped packages. He twiddles over the gifts his fingers like a pianist would over their instrument. He's trying to decide where to start]

[She's tearing the wrapping off now, wrapping paper is such a strange thing and she takes a moment to stare confusedly at the tape that has gotten stuck to her thumb. In the end she opts to remove it with her teeth, spitting her enemy out onto the floor. Now she can pay full attention to her box. She opens it slowly, peering into it. She gasps and opens it fully. One hand goes to her mouth.]

It's so beautiful...

[Claudia loves bracelets but the ones she has, the ones she always wears, are simple, handmade of undecorated leather and rope. Slowly she removes it from the box, as if she's afraid it will fall apart if treated too harshly.]

[As soon as Remus walked into the room Yoh took note of him. When he came to sit nearby Yoh watched him out of the corner of his eye. In prison if you don't know your surroundings and who you're surrounded by you will end up dead and death is just one of the things Yoh's very good at avoiding. When Remus talks to him he turns to face the other boy. His smile fades a little.]

I keep forgetting to replace mine that broke. I should thank him for replacing it and I didn't have to ask.
