[The tree in the parlor is massive. Its prickly branches stretch outwards and are weighed down with bright ornaments; the star at the top nearly touches the ceiling. In the fireplace nearby, a fire crackles warm and orange. Outside the window, there is snow. It's a perfect Christmas scene. And on the rug, under the tree? Those are your presents.]

[Remus is kneeling nearby, looking curiously over his own presents. He has no idea who got him gifts; he doesn't exactly have many friends here. Then he notices Yoh. He watches him for a moment and then, realizing that he's being rude by staring, is compelled to make a comment.]

Er. Did you just get that scarf?

[As soon as Remus walked into the room Yoh took note of him. When he came to sit nearby Yoh watched him out of the corner of his eye. In prison if you don't know your surroundings and who you're surrounded by you will end up dead and death is just one of the things Yoh's very good at avoiding. When Remus talks to him he turns to face the other boy. His smile fades a little.]
