Each class is going to have a log. Please only respond to people who are in your class. The first poster should put their class (either A or B) in the subject line.

[There are textbooks waiting on your desks again but this time their covers are red with white text and the inside information is far more centralized. On the board is a list of chapters and questions about said chapters. The first chapter listed is about the colonial US, then the revolutionary US, after that is the Civil War, then reconstruction, Industrial Revolution history is next, then the Great Depression, then the Second World War, and finally the 1960's.]

[James strolls into class and deposits himself at one of the desks, he eyes the board, looks at the stiff teacher, shrugs and begins to flip idly through the pages until he comes to the first chapter listed. He finds a sticky note on the front page. In the same handwriting as the teacher's it reads "Sorry about the rebellion thing!!" James cocks his head staring confusedly at the page. It takes him a more than a moment to realize what she means and for a few minutes is distinctly worried about mongols breaking into the classroom or the teacher suddenly pulling out a wand or one of those weird metal wands Muggles use to kill one another on him. Then, it hits him and he clicks his tongue at his own stupidity. He picks up his quill and squiggles under it "no problem, the 1700's were a long time ago. We've forgiven you."]

[Soubi is out of cigarettes. There don't seem to be any in this school building. How ridiculous. But there's nothing to be done for it. If he can't smoke in the restroom, he'll have to go to class. He supposes it can't be too bad; he's never been to class in public school before. So he strides in just a moment before the bell and slides into a seat. "American History," is it? Thinking about it, he doesn't know a thing about American history. Seimei always told him to learn what he could, wherever he could. This can't be a bad place to do that. So he opens the book and begins to read.]

[James cranes his neck and watches Soubi as he takes his seat and begins to read. He gives a wave and when ignored he greets Soubi verbally]

Morning.

[Soubi looks over at James, eyebrows raised, as if James is doing something wholly inappropriate by greeting him.]

What is it?

What's what?

[James is confused]

[Oh, no. Not a stupid person. Soubi hates stupid people.]

What do you need?

[This was the subject that Gene had the most trouble in. History. Bored. Him. He hated reading tabloids and to him, US History was too fluid to give any solid proof other than a few letters and documents. The rest was speculation and possible outcomes.

He picked his seat in the middle of the class room and opened his book. Again, he ripped apart the text instead of looking at the material objectively. He lifted his brow and rubbed the back of his neck. He shook his head and started to look at the economic aspects of the history instead. To him, it was all about the numbers since the numbers didn't lie.]

[Kio blinks over at him]

You look upset.

[He blows out a puff of air and looks up from the book.]

I'm not good with history. Did you know that the Great Depression was known as The Dirty Thirties because of the Dust Bowl in the Midwest? It was over farming and the lack of knowledge that caused the depression to begin with. The banks were having a hay day with foreclosures on massive amounts of property because the farmers couldn't pay the mortgage. How could they when nothing was growing?

It wasn't until the Administration of the new presidency that came in and showed the farmers a new method of rotation that we slowly started to recover. The Black Monday and Black Sunday thing was just the beginning. The Great Migration to California was a dead end for some and a lot of people died from starvation and dehydration while they crossed the desert.

[Hello my name is Kio, I don't particularly like intellectual things that aren't art. If it's art history or art I can talk to you for hours. But this stuff is beyond my interest or understanding. However I am going to smile and nod and pretend I know what's going on.]

[Gene clears his throat, recognizing the expression that Kio's using from when his wife would do the same thing when he talked about expenditures and deficits.]

Sorry.

Huh? Oh, it's okay. You're passionate! That's good!

Yeah? [a smile] Thanks. It's funny though. I graduated high school, oh, nine years ago and I'm looking at this oddness as a refresher.

[Sheldon plops down on his seat, his face looks like he's completely bored out of his mind and looks up at the chalk board.]

Yay, reading.

[He puts his head down once he opens the book and falls asleep.]
